66 Dodge Charger

66 Dodge Charger Rear 3/4 birds eye perpsective.  This car is really cool.  I can totally see where the following Charger designs took their cues from.  This is a little off on the front fender, but overall I thought it was a pretty good coloring/rendering excercise for me.

68 Ford Mustang GT Fastback

BULLIT!!!!  enough said….One of my ALL TIME favorite movies, actor (Steve McQueen) and vehicles.  Decided NOT to paint it metallic green..this one is was painted from a photo reference image from an old classic car calendar that my dad gave me awhile back.  I went with Traditional Ford Blue!

My best friend’s kids at the beach.  Loose sketch using a medium quality photo reference picture.

Process:

1.  Gridded the reference image

2.  layed down mid tine using big soft photoshop default brush with opacity set to 100%

3.  dropped in blurry profile of the faces.  big soft brush @ 60% opacity.

4.  detailed out dark values using smaller soft brush @ 40% – 80% opacity.

5.  blocked in hair with smaller soft brush @ 40% – 80% opacity.

6.  added highlights to faces & hair with soft brush @ 40% – 60% opacity.

7.  detailed out dark values in the hair using smaller soft brush @ 40% – 80% opacity.

8.  applied photoshop texture “texturizer” filter.

9.  applied photoshop sketch “water paper” filter.
